Dr. Ray Black, Professor of Ethnic Studies at Colorado State University, discusses the meaning and importance of Black History Month; the advances made, and how much remains to be done, in incorporating Black history into American history studies; and the role of women and Black churches in the history of the 20th Century Civil Rights Movement, and the African-American community in general.  This podcast contains about 17 minutes of material that had to be deleted from the broadcast version due to time constraints.
